The locations look gorgeous, the action sequences so far are gripping, and the performances are captivating

I certainly didn’t have Eddie Redmayne as the Jackal on my bingo card for streaming TV shows this year, but here he is. It’s great to see a classic novel with such a lavish production, and it all plays out very well, as far as I’m concerned.

On the other hand, it’s always nice to see Charles Dance flex his acting muscles

Like other reviewers, I don’t trust Lashana Lynch as an MI:6 agent and think she’s the wrong choice for the role. Ursula Corbero is lovely to watch on screen, although I’m afraid she’s a little underused.

Otherwise, a great piece of old-school cloak and dagger fun
