Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book “Wool” – The book has 82 chapters
Narrative
Men and women live in a massive underground silo with several regulations they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. The fans on the floor spin the wrong way in various episodes, as far as the orientation of the blades is concerned.
When spinning this way, air is neither pushed nor pulled
Featured in WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 You Must Experience (2023). The Wool Trilogy books are some of the best books I’ve ever read. I was extremely hesitant to watch Silo because I had such a vivid inner vision of this post-apocalyptic world from the books and I didn’t want to ruin it.
That being said, I’m halfway through season 1 and it has nothing to do with the books at all!
What I mean is that the framework is there, the events and the basics of what made the books great. However, most of the detailed plot is completely new and embellished, filling in gaps of things that were hinted at or glossed over in the books. What I’m happy about is that I still have a clear version of the books in my head and the show seems like a new, fun version.
A lot of it was what I imagined it would be
I have to say they did a PHENOMENAL job with the casting and the sets. But the differences are what make the book stand out and I like that. This is probably the first time I’ve been glad the show isn’t like the books, but I’m still enjoying it a lot.
Very well done!
