Narrative

In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is given a high-profile job she’s ill-suited for, with tectonic effects on her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations for the series, including the still-recently operating American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming to take place in the Foreign Office, an honor rarely granted to any film or screen production, especially an American one.

It was presented at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)

One missing location was Winfield House, the actual residence of the U.S. ambassador. Although it’s accurately described as the largest residential estate in London (11 acres) next to Buckingham Palace, the makers used a country house outside the city for filming.

It’s so cerebral and fascinating

I was eagerly watching The Night Agent and thought it couldn’t get much better, I was wrong. I loved every second of this series. Everything you could hope for in a series.

She played it perfectly

The characters and acting were first class. It was so great to see the fine Rufus Sewell again and the kind of role he played that you never knew what he was going to do next. Keri Russell was absolutely amazing as the ambassador.

I also loved David Gyas

Overall a great series, maybe a little short, but worth watching. The best political show since The West Wing. Excellent!
