For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really interested me

Narrative

During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcast team is forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. The performances are all believable, with comedy in the right places and a pace and running time that doesn’t leave you wanting to leave before the credits roll.

They did a solid job of not blowing up plot points

Some might find the lack of change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and to feel the same way they felt on this eventful day.

Makes you think without being preachy

They touched on the political and emotional elements nicely. The intermixing of footage from the actual event, including the broadcast footage, definitely makes you more into the experience.

A nice touch

While it’s not a film I’m going to watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I would recommend to friends who enjoy these kinds of films.
