But this time, the fight isn’t for him; it’s for his family
Narrative
When a sinister threat from his childhood comes back to haunt him, his father desperately fights his deepest inner fear. This is the first PG-13 horror film to feature the “Lionsgate Red Gears” logo since Opsjednut (2012).
Take that, man – that’s another summary title I could use – it might be even more appropriate for my useless tagline!
But that aside, the horror may have its fair share of weaknesses (I’ll touch on a few), but it also has some pretty good sound design! Some might call what’s going on a jump scare (and that’s not entirely wrong), but there’s more to it than that.
The acting is good, maybe even okay
The plot and flaws, or rather, logic problems… are pretty significant! On the other hand, there is a little twist towards the end of the movie – it can reveal many more unthinkable things…
and you may find some scenes leading up to it even less convincing
but try not to question the motivations and/or actions of the characters. Still, it’s a horror movie, so characters will do things you don’t agree with…
in the end, we have to move on (whether we like it or not – and yes, that’s an intentional joke)
